Greiner had been playing winter ball for Escogido in the Dominican Republic. He should be fine by the opening of spring training next February and will presumably have a shot at the Tigers' backup catcher gig. The 26-year-old batted .219/.328/.281 over his first 116 major league plate appearances in 2018.
