Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports the Twins are finalizing a one-year deal with Jonathan Schoop.December 06, 2018 | 01:36 PM
Rosenthal says the deal will be for more than $7 million. Schoop was non-tenders by the Brewers after struggling to a .202/.246/.331 line over 46 games after coming over to Milwaukee at the trade deadline. The year before, the 27-year-old hit 32 homers and drove in 105 runs, so this would be a bet on him returning to form without investing multiple years. It's a medium-risk, high-reward type of deal that the Twins seem to make every year with a pitcher or hitter.
