Eovaldi allowed a run on three singles in a 26-pitch first inning, but he registered pitch counts of 18, 12, 9, 16, and 11 in the frames that followed as the Red Sox beat the Astros by a score of 8-2 and went up 2-1 in the best-of-seven American League Championship Series. Eovaldi scattered six hits and two walks while striking out four. The impending free agent right-hander is earning himself a fat offseason paycheck.
