Martin Perez allowed five runs -- four earned -- over 6 2/3 innings in Sunday's loss to the Royals. Perez gave up six hits -- all singles -- and a walk over his 6 2/3 innings, striking out seven. In that sense, it really was a bit unlucky that the Royals managed to push across five runs and serve him his third loss. After a brilliant start to the year the southpaw has fallen on some hard times in recent starts, allowing 16 earned runs in his last four outings. Perez will carry a 4.09 ERA and 1.42 WHIP into a rematch with the Royals on Friday.
