Rays bench coach Matt Quatraro is among the candidates for the Giants' managerial opening, per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. Quartaro managed in the minors and has been a coach in the majors with the Indians and now the Rays. Cubs first base coach Will Venable, former Cardinals manager Mike Matheny, A's quality control coach Mark Kotsay, Royals quality control coach Pedro Grifol, and former Phillies manager Gabe Kapler are among the other known candidates to replace Bruce Bochy in San Francisco. There are also some internal options there in Hensley Meulens and Ron Wotus.
