Zach Britton has received a stem cell injection in his left knee and will likely miss the remainder of the season. Writer's Analysis: This is a smart move, given that Britton has not been himself at all this year, and the Orioles are all but out of wildcard contention. This injection and rest will likely help him fully recover for 2018. Brad Brach will be taking over closing duties. Britton finishes the season with 15 saves, 2.89 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, and only 29 Ks in 37 1/3 innings.
