Isaiah Livers could be in play for a starting roleAugust 04, 2022 | 01:42 PM

Pistons beat writer James Edwards III of The Athletic believes that Isaiah Livers is the team's "sleeper" and could earn a spot in the starting lineup next season. Analysis: Four spots in the Pistons' starting lineup appear to be spoken for at this point in the summer: Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey, Saddiq Bey, and Isaiah Stewart. But who will fill the fifth and final spot? According to Edwards, it could come down to a competition between Livers and Marvin Bagley. Dwane Casey calling upon the latter would give Detroit more size and athleticism, but spacing would be an issue. Going with Livers, who played very well in Summer League, would give the Pistons a versatile wing who defends his position well and is also a credible 3-point shooter. Whether he earns a starting job or not, Livers appears well-positioned to log consistent rotation minutes next season. Deep-league managers need to have him on their radar.
