Wood upset his name leaked after positive testMarch 29, 2020 | 12:00 AM

Christian Wood tested positive for the coronavirus and has since been cleared, but his name was leaked to the public without his consent. Analysis: The Pistons played the Jazz a few days before Rudy Gobert was diagnosed with COVID-19 and Wood was his primary defender during that contest. Coach Dwane Casey said the team was thoroughly briefed on the HIPAA laws about protecting patient privacy. "That's why we were so mystified when it leaked out,'' Casey said about Wood's positive test becoming public. "Christian was upset his name got out there. He didn't release it. And the worst part was it got out before Christian even had a chance to tell his mom." Wood has since recovered from the virus and has been cleared. Casey also mentioned that the team's trainer advised him to take Sekou Doumbouya out of the game against the 76ers on March 11 after finding out that Gobert tested positive. Doumbouya hung out with Gobert, his fellow countryman, after their game on March 7. Doumbouya would later re-enter the game, though he did ultimately test negative for the virus.
