Free agent offensive tackle Jake Long has announced his retirement from the NFL. Writer's Analysis: Long, the former No. 1 overall pick of the Miami Dolphins in the 2008 draft, has announced his retirement from the NFL after nine seasons in the league. After earning Pro Bowl honors in each of his first four seasons with the Dolphins, including being named first-team All-Pro in 2010, Long's career was derailed by injuries. While spending two years with the Rams from 2013-2014, Long had one-year stints with the Falcons and Vikings to close out his career.
