Wendell Smallwood, the likely backup to Ryan Matthews, has Eagles' HC Doug Pederson cautiously excited. Pederson voiced concern about developing in pass protection, but described Smallwood as an "excellent route runner, good hands, patient runner" that has the speed and ability to "create long runs." Writer's Analysis: Matthews was the most effective runner in Philadephia last year and appears to be a logical RB2 choice for fantasy owners. However, with his injury history and a new coaching regime, Smallwood may be the better value with an ADP of 65 and a skill set that fits better in the Eagles' scheme. Remember, Pederson inherited Matthews but drafted Smallwood.
