Canucks' Arturs Silovs: Dealing with knee issueAugust 29, 2024 | 09:20 AM

Silovs has knee ligament inflammation and will not play for Latvia in the 2026 Olympic qualifiers, Patrick Johnston of the Province reports Thursday. After being left off of Latvia's roster on Wednesday, there's now a reason behind Silovs' removal from the team. In Latvia's press release, they made note that this injury would prevent Silovs from performing to the highest of his capabilities. It'll be something to monitor, but this could imply that Silovs' injury isn't overly serious, but rather more of a precautionary move. The 23-year-old is expected to be Thatcher Demko's top backup in Vancouver for the 2024-25 season, who is also currently dealing with a lingering knee issue.
