Carey Price would like to sign an extension with the Montreal Canadiens.April 24, 2017 | 11:11 AM

"I want to stay here," Price said. "I know we'll figure out a way to make all the pieces fit and bring a championship here." Price is entering the final season of his six-year, $39 million contract, so he can sign an extension this summer. Locking Price up will be critical for Montreal as Price is the center of the team after winning the Vezina Trophy in 2015 and being a finalist again this season. The question is how big Price's cap hit will be. Henrik Lundqvist currently has the biggest cap hit of any goaltender at $8.5 million annually and Price can likely command more than that if he chooses to.
