Drake Batherson gained valuable experience last year with Belleville of the AHL and feels more prepared to compete for a roster spot with Ottawa during training camp. "It was exactly where I should have been," said Batherson. "There's quite a difference between the junior and the pro lifestyle. You really have no idea what to expect." He added that the AHL "is one of the most underrated leagues in all of hockey." Batherson had three goals and nine points in 20 games at the NHL level last year.
