With Brock Nelson signed, there will likely be even more attention on keeping Anders Lee with the Islanders. Like Nelson was, Lee is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. Lee scored 28 goals and 51 points in 82 games in 2018-19, though that was down from 40 goals in 2017-18 when he was playing alongside John Tavares. Reaching an understanding with Lee might be more difficult than it was with Nelson, who signed a six-year, $36 million contract. The term in particular might be an issue as it's believed that Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello would attempt to lock Lee up to a mid-term contract.
