Kailer Yamamoto has now scored in his first two preseason games.September 22, 2017 | 06:57 AM

"He knows his limitations size-wise and I really don't think there are many of them," Oilers coach Todd McLellan said. "He plays situations so smart. There will be the odd time where he'll get out-muscled or somebody heavier will win the battle but nine out of 10 times he's positioned himself so well and anticipates so well that he can play the game built the way he is." Size will also be a point of discussion with Yamamoto as he stands at five-foot-eight, but there are some forwards, like Johnny Gaudreau for example, that have managed to excel in the NHL at a similar height. Edmonton took Yamamoto with the 22nd overall pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft after he scored 42 goals and 99 points in 65 WHL contests last season.
