"He knows his limitations size-wise and I really don't think there are many of them," Oilers coach Todd McLellan said. "He plays situations so smart. Size will also be a point of discussion with Yamamoto as he stands at five-foot-eight, but there are some forwards, like Johnny Gaudreau for example, that have managed to excel in the NHL at a similar height. Edmonton took Yamamoto with the 22nd overall pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft after he scored 42 goals and 99 points in 65 WHL contests last season.
