Nicolas Hague is eager to show he can play at the NHL level.
"I feel ready," said Hague. "I know I'm going to have to battle for a spot, but I want to get out there. I want to show coach [Gerard Gallant] I can prove myself as a defenseman, show up to camp and do whatever it takes to earn that spot." He will face competition from Zach Whitecloud and Jimmy Schuldt at training camp. The 20-year-old blueliner recorded 13 goals and 32 points in 75 regular-season games with Chicago of the AHL last year. Hague also added 11 points in 22 Calder Cup Playoff games.
