"I just didn’t feel like I was at my best, and it’s gonna change this year," Foster said. "(I’ve) just refocused and rededicated myself to another level, and hopefully it shows." Foster averaged the fewest yards per carry of his career last season, but also took the rock more than any other back. Foster has racked up a ton of mileage the past three seasons, but remains a lock for top-five fantasy status.
Speaking with Texans Radio, running back Arian Foster said he's had one of the most intense offseasons workout-wise after falling below his expectations last season. "I just want to bounce back," Foster said according to the official team website. "I don't feel like I had the best season last year."
Texans running back Arian Foster finished 2012 with 405 carries and 460 total touches in 18 games, not to mention 1,062 carries and 1,244 total touches in the last three seasons. But coach Gary Kubiak said in an interview with CBSSports.com at the NFL owners meeting in Phoenix on Tuesday that the Texans don't plan to lighten Foster's workload this year. "It's something you're always looking at, but he is a player who gets better with reps and carries," Kubiak said. "There was a point in the season last year where he was carrying it too much, and those things work themselves out. You look at the end of the year, and I think we were fine. It's something you're always thinking about, watching, paying attention to. But at the same time we have a player who plays his best the more he carries it, so we want to do what he does best."
The Houston Chronicle reports that Texans running back Arian Foster said Friday he doesn't plan to have a heart procedure, which was previously reported by NFL.com. On Thursday, there was a report that Foster is "likely" to undergo a minor heart procedure in about a month. Foster dealt with an irregular heartbeat late in the season and was forced to leave Week 16 against the Vikings. But since the report came out, Texans general manager Rick Smith said Foster didn't need surgery, and Foster himself said the same thing. "I have not nor do I plan, anytime in the near future, to have conversations with my doctors about any surgery," Foster said. "I am feeling well." He then added: "Thank you for all the concern. As of now, I have no complications with my blood pumper. "
Houston Texans running back Arian Foster said Friday he won't have a procedure to address a heart condition that forced him out of a regular-season game. Foster told ESPN Radio's "The Herd" and ESPN's "SportsCenter" that the heart ablation procedure will not take place after it had been reported that he was likely to have it.
