Delayed season could benefit Michael FulmerMarch 28, 2020 | 12:00 AM
The delayed start to the 2020 regular season could benefit Tigers' right-hander Michael Fulmer.
Analysis: The 27-year-old hurler is working his way back from Tommy John surgery and wasn't expected to be ready to return until around mid-season. If the season doesn't start until June or July though -- and extends well into October or beyond -- it could ultimately mean more innings for Fulmer. He told Chris McCosky of the Detroit News, "Whatever we do, it's going to be a shortened season... But that might help me, coming off TJ and limiting my innings a little bit without having to do so by missing starts and getting pushed back. I think it could be a good thing for me personally, the fact that they might push the season back a little bit." He's someone to keep in mind in the later rounds of deep mixed league drafts.
