Edman doubles and triples in Game 5 blowoutOctober 09, 2019 | 05:21 PM

Tommy Edman went 2-for-5 with a double, triple, two runs scored and two RBI in a rout of the Braves on Wednesday in Game 5 of the NLDS. Edman gave the Cardinals a 4-0 lead in the first inning with a bases-loaded double off of Mike Foltynewicz, and an inning later, he extended that lead to 11-0 when he scored a run after a triple off of Max Fried. In hindsight St. Louis doesn't have a "key" hit in a game that was over after the top of the first, but Edman certainly helped put this game away early with the two extra-base hits. The Cardinals advance to the NLCS to face either the Dodgers or Nationals.
