ESPN's Jeff Passan reports that Matthew Boyd is in agreement on a contract with the Tigers. Analysis: Boyd left Detroit last offseason for a one-year, $5.2 million deal with the Giants before then getting flipped to the Mariners at the August 2 trade deadline. He wound up logging only 13 1/3 innings, though the results were promising when he was healthy. Now the 31-year-old left-hander returns to the Tigers as they aim to bolster their pitching depth and stage a rebound from what was a highly disappointing showing in 2022.
