Yoshitomo Tsutsugo returns to United StatesJune 30, 2020 | 05:54 AM
Rays general manager Erik Neander said during an appearance on 95.3 WDAE on Tuesday that Yoshitomo Tsutsugo has returned to the United States.
Analysis: Tsutsugo left for his native Japan after MLB shut down in March due to the coronavirus. However, he should be good to go when team workouts begin on Friday. Neander said that all 37 players who will train at Tropicana Field have arrived in town. Tsutsugo joined the Rays on a two-year, $12 million contract this offseason after posting a .285/.382/.528 slash line over 10 seasons in Nippon Professional Baseball. He's likely to play multiple positions for the Rays this year.
