Bobby Portis ready to take next step with BucksSeptember 25, 2022 | 12:03 PM

During Bucks media day on Sunday, Bobby Portis said that he spent the offseason working on adjusting to teams running him off of the 3-point line, as the Celtics did in the playoffs. Analysis: Portis established new career-high averages in points (14.6) and rebounds (9.1) last season, providing 5th-round value in 9-cat formats and 7th-round value in 8-cat. But he was largely held in check during Milwaukee's 7-game series with the Celtics, averaging 9.9 points per game on 39.4% shooting from the field. One thing that Boston did in an attempt to neutralize Portis was run him off the 3-point line, turning him into a decision-maker instead of someone who could play off of the Bucks' stars as a catch-and-shoot option. Portis didn't reveal exactly how he improved his skill set this offseason, but the hope is that one of the results would be an improvement in his assist numbers (1.2 per game last season, which matched his career average). While he is ranked outside of the top 100 in the Rotoworld 2022-23 Fantasy Basketball Draft Guide, Portis' production should exceed that, even with a healthy Brook Lopez in the fold.
