Nets unlikely to keep Russell if Kyrie joins?June 14, 2019 | 07:03 PM

According to Ian Begley of SNY, the Nets are "highly unlikely" to keep D'Angelo Russell if Kyrie Irving signs with Brooklyn. The Nets are the "odds-on favorite" to land Irving according to Begley, and that seems to be the consensus around the national media as well. The Nets are still hoping to pair Irving with Kevin Durant (knee), and they can open enough cap space to sign two max free agents if they renounce the rights to Russell. Only 23 and fresh off an All-Star season, Russell is expected to draw interest from teams such as the Pacers, Jazz, Magic and Wolves.
