Now 29, however, Peterson is aware of his football mortality. "You couldn't have told me that at least two or three of those guys wouldn't still be here," Peterson said of the Vikings moving on from players like Percy Harvin and Jared Allen. "It just goes to show how the business is. Ultimately, the organization is going to do what they feel is best for their team." Peterson is signed through 2017, but could be cut without a salary-cap hit next offseason. Peterson is making $11.75 million this season.
