Baalke: Jags and Engram interested in 2023 returnJanuary 24, 2023 | 11:06 AM
Jaguars GM Trent Baalke said there is mutual interest between the team and Evan Engram to re-sign the veteran tight end this offseason.
Analysis: Engram joined the Jaguars on a one-year contract last offseason after spending five years with the Giants. The embattled tight end made the most of a prove-it deal when he became a key part of the Jaguars' offensive scheme. His 73 receptions and 766 receiving yards were both career highs, while his four touchdowns were his most since his rookie season. The soon-to-be 29-year-old tight end is on the verge of a nice payday this offseason and should be one of the more coveted tight ends on the free agent market. While he's struggled at times with injuries, Engram played in all 17 games for the Jaguars last season, and was a key contributor in both playoff games.
