Pollard (ankle) should be ready by training campJanuary 24, 2023 | 12:36 PM
ESPN's Todd Archer reports RB Tony Pollard underwent surgery on his fractured left fibula and that he should be ready for training camp.
Analysis: As Pollard prepares to enter free agency, he'll do so while recovering from a gruesome injury suffered in the Divisional Round loss to the 49ers. Undoubtedly the more talented back in Dallas' backfield, the Cowboys will have a decision to make this offseason on whether or not they want to commit to Pollard long-term with Ezekiel Elliott still under contract, or let him walk in order to avoid tying up even more money to the running back position. Pollard totaled 1,378 yards from scrimmage and 12 touchdowns this season, looking like one of the premier dual-threat running backs in the league. He should see plenty of interest on the open market, even if his injury serves as a detractor for some teams.
