Phillips signed a one-year, two-way contract with Chicago on Monday. Phillips had four goals and 14 points in 29 regular-season contests for AHL Rockford in 2023-24 before adding two assists in four playoff outings. The 22-year-old defender collected six helpers, 31 shots on goal, 36 blocked shots and 56 hits across 33 regular-season contests with Chicago last campaign. Phillips will probably start the 2024-25 campaign in the minors but could be among the first call-ups if the Blackhawks need defense reinforcements.
