Carlos Martinez (shoulder) has been cleared to begin throwing off of a mound. Analysis: Martinez began his throwing program in early December and hasn't had any setbacks so far. He'll throw off a mound for the first time at the Cardinals' spring training facility in Jupiter, Florida on Tuesday. The right-hander said Saturday that he feels healthy and that he's ready to compete for a spot in the team's starting rotation.
