Foltynewicz gets just one out in blowout lossOctober 09, 2019 | 05:20 PM

Mike Foltynewicz was able to get just one out while allowing seven runs -- six earned -- with three walks in a blowout loss on Wednesday in Game 5 of the NLDS against the Cardinals. The one out was a sacrifice bunt. Foltynewicz was sensational on Friday in the Game 2 win. He was anything but on Wednesday; struggling with command and giving up plenty of hard contact before being pulled for Max Fried. It's a disappointing end of the season for the right-hander; especially considering how well he had pitched down the stretch and in the victory in Game 2. The 28-year-old is arbitration-eligible in 2020 before hitting free agency in 2021, so he should be a key figure in the Atlanta rotation again next season.
