Geoff Hartlieb underwent surgery on his right foot on Wednesday.
There are no further details other than that Hartlieb is expected to be ready to go for the start of spring training in 2020. The 25-year-old posted an ugly 9.00 ERA in 35 innings with Pittsburgh last year, but he did strike out 38 in that time frame. He likely competes for a spot in the Pirates' bullpen in 2020.
