Hader blows third save in four appearancesAugust 13, 2019 | 09:09 PM

Josh Hader gave up a three-run homer in the eighth to take a blown save against the Twins on Tuesday. Hader, who hadn't pitched since blowing a save Friday, came into a 5-4 game with two on and two out in the top of the eighth and gave up the homer to Marwin Gonzalez. He went on strike out Jonathan Schoop, but he didn't come back out for the ninth with the Brewers down 7-5. Hader has given up runs in four straight appearances, leading to three blown saves. He's surrendered 13 homers on the year. He's not giving up any hits besides the homers or walking many batters, but the homers have finally caught up to him now. His closing gig could be at some risk, though he remains a great bet if he's truly healthy. It's not like the Brewers really want to turn to Jeremy Jeffress or Matt Albers in save situations.
