Kyle Schwarber homers on Friday against DodgersMay 14, 2022 | 07:45 AM

Kyle Schwarber went 1-for-5 with two runs scored, two RBI, and a home run on Friday against the Dodgers. Writer's Analysis: Schwarber may be batting just .190, but there's little to complain about with his power. His eight home runs are tied for the lead with the Phillies, and his home run on Friday had a 113.8 MPH exit velocity and traveled 430 feet. Schwarber's issues are mostly that he's being too passive at the plate, especially with pitches in the zone (his 59.5% Z-Swing% is the lowest of his career by far) which is leading to a bloated strikeout rate. Chances are, he'll adjust his approach, and considering how strong his power numbers are already, his season should take off at some point soon.
