Orioles facing tough calls with non-tendersNovember 07, 2019 | 03:36 PM
Orioles GM Mike Elias said Thursday that the Orioles will have tough decisions at the non-tender deadline as they deal with their seven arbitration eligible players.
The Orioles cut their payroll by more than 40% last season and only have two commitments for 2020 in the $35 million they'll be paying Chris Davis and Alex Cobb, so it's not as though they're in any sort of bind. Still, they have no intention of contending next year and thus will spent as little money as they can get away with. Jonathan Villar, easily the team's most expensive player in arbitration, could get dealt.
