Weaver fans five in first Major League start of 2017July 27, 2017 | 08:39 PM

Cardinals right-hander Luke Weaver lost after giving up four runs on five hits (one homer) and two walks with five strikeouts over five innings Thursday against the D-backs. Slot Aug. 2 at Milwaukee Writer's Analysis: Weaver's first Major League start of 2017 was going well until a grand slam in the fourth inning dampened things. Outside of that, the 23-year-old looked like St. Louis' prized young arm who had turned in a 1.91 ERA and 0.94 WHIP with a 9.41 K/9 through 13 Triple-A starts.
