Carmelo Anthony focuses on his game despite the negatives of a restartJuly 07, 2020 | 12:42 PM

Carmelo Anthony made his motivation for participating in the NBA restart quite clear, saying, "Basketball, at the end of the day. Wanting to play, wanting to get back on the court. That's what I've been challenging myself to think about, rather than all the negatives of the situation." Writer's Analysis: Anthony's mind-set should bode well for the Trail Blazers as they look to play themselves into playoff contention come later this month. Despite the negatives one could derive from the "bubble" situation, he remains focused on his role within the team, saying, "My role is continuing to do what I've done since I've been here. My role is clear-cut, and it's been working." Anthony also expressed that he is looking forward to moving back to small forward with Zach Collins returning to the lineup, "In today's game, it's position less. There's not positions no more." This year Anthony is averaging 15.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, .8 steals, and .5 blocks per game. His team-first attitude and self-awareness should positively contribute to his ability to generate value for the team, as well as value for your fantasy squad. Anthony should be considered a cost-effective play in most, if not all, fantasy formats.
