Donovan Mitchell: Injured ankle is 'ready to go'September 13, 2021 | 01:18 PM
Donovan Mitchell said his right ankle feels "ready to go," and that being hurt last season helped him "slow it down" and reach "another level, layer of [his] game."
Analysis: Mitchell missed the final 16 games of the 2020-21 regular season due to a sprained ankle, and was limited when he returned in the playoffs. "That injury kept me on the ground for the entire playoffs," he said. "I was like, 'OK, this is another level, layer of my game that I can get to without [the athleticism]. But now [for 2021-22] you're adding back the jumping and the athleticism. The ankle feels good. I'll be ready to go." The 25-year-old Mitchell reached new heights last season with career highs in scoring (26.4 ppg), triples (3.4), rebounds (4.4) and assists (5.2). He has a great chance to improve upon that top-50 fantasy finish.
