John Wall still not expected to return this seasonMarch 25, 2020 | 12:00 AM

John Wall (Achilles) is still not expected to return this season, despite having more time to recover during the NBA's hiatus. Analysis: "We've said all along that we can't wait until John plays next season, and I think that will still be our attitude and our stance," Wizards General Manager Tommy Sheppard said in a recent interview. "We're very anxious to see John Wall in uniform next year. I don't think any of this changes that." Wall had progressed to going through 5-on-5 work with the Wizards' G League affiliate prior to the NBA suspending play in March, but with the NBA shutting down their practice facilities, Wall will need to pause his rehab. He can still workout at home, but he can't scrimmage, nor can he work out with trainers. It would be unwise to roll him out there for a handful of games and have him risk another injury in what has become another lost season for Washington.
