Kemba Walker struggles mightily in USA lossSeptember 11, 2019 | 07:53 AM
Kemba Walker shot 2-of-9 from the field and 6-of-8 from the foul line in Team USA's 89-79 loss to France, finishing with ten points, three rebounds and four turnovers.
While Walker's shooting numbers, which included an 0-of-4 effort from beyond the arc, weren't good the greater issue was the assist-to-turnover ratio. The Celtics point guard did not register a single assist on the night, as he struggled to find comfortable spaces in which to operate. Some of the blame can be placed on Walker himself, but the biggest reason for his struggles was the defensive efforts of French players such as Frank Ntilikina and Rudy Gobert. As for the upcoming NBA season, assists won't be an issue for Walker in Boston. The last time Walker has failed to tally a single assist in an NBA game was November 2, 2013.
