Myers: 'Live action' final step for Klay ThompsonOctober 15, 2020 | 07:11 AM

Warriors president of basketball operations Bob Myers said during a recent interview that "live NBA action" is the final step that Klay Thompson needs to make in his return from a torn ACL. Analysis: Thompson did not play at all this season due to the knee injury he suffered during Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. The Warriors were one of the eight teams not invited into the bubble, but they were able to hold a minicamp that wrapped up early this month. Thompson looked good according to multiple reports, but a camp setting does not replicate live action. "You need to experience and that's nothing against him or us, you just can't do that right now," Myers said on 95.7 The Game on Wednesday. "You're going to need to do that in training camp, in the preseason if there is one or right into the season. That's the part he needs to get over. But he will and we're confident that he can. We just haven't been able to provide that and that's not available anywhere." Thompson sets up to be a dependable option in the fourth or fifth round of most leagues.
