Browns' Joe Flacco: Intends to play next seasonJanuary 31, 2024 | 08:14 AM

Flacco, an impending free agent, intents to continue his NFL career during the 2024 season, Rob Maaddi of the Associated Press reports. Flacco intends to keep playing in what will be his age-40 season, though it's difficult to gauge what kind of opportunities he'll face on the free agent market. The veteran signal-caller is coming off an impressive, albeit short, run with the Browns, in which he led the team to a 4-1 record across five starts, culminating in a wild-card round playoff exit to the Texans. It seems likely that Cleveland will roll with Deshaun Watson (shoulder) as the starter for the 2024 campaign, but if the team has any concerns about his health, re-signing Flacco could have some appeal. If the Browns aren't interested, Flacco's strong showing in 2023 ought to at least earn him a backup gig elsewhere in the league.
