Raiders' Johnathan Abram: Seeking Year 2 breakoutJune 29, 2020 | 12:50 PM
Abram enters his second pro season locked in as the Raiders' starting strong safety, Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. The 27th overall pick in the 2019 draft suffered a season-ending rotator cuff tear in Week 1 last year. A report in early February suggested he was 90 percent healthy and comfortably bench-pressing 185 pounds, so it's safe to assume Abram is back at full strength by this point. He should be locked in as a three-down player, while Damarious Randall, Erik Harris and Jeff Heath are all candidates to start at free safety. Abram looks like the best IDP choice of the group.
