A. Nylander has an opportunity in ChicagoJuly 10, 2019 | 12:35 AM
Although Alexander Nylander disappointed in Buffalo, there is a big opportunity for him in Chicago.
The Blackhawks acquired Nylander from the Sabres on Tuesday in exchange for Henri Jokiharju. There is an opening available for Nylander on a line with Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews, but he'll likely first need to prove himself in the AHL at the start of the 2019-20 campaign. He struggled in 2018-19 with 19 points in 49 AHL games and four points in 12 contests with Buffalo, but there is a lot of offensive potential with him. Perhaps the move to Chicago will bring it out. "The one thing about Alex that's appealing is that he's had success playing left-hand right wing," Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman said. "With his offensive talent and his skill level, it's certainly exciting to think of what he could do when you put him with some of the players that we have."
