Andreas Athanasiou picked up an even-strength goal with a minor penalty and three shots on goal in Friday's 4-3 preseason game loss against the Islanders. Athanasiou also blocked a couple of shots while adding a hit in 17:02 of ice time, pairing with Valtteri Filppula and Taro Hirose. He will be on the wing with Filppula back in Hockeytown working as a pivot, and it appears the two will be on the same scoring line. Athanasiou was one of the top fantasy options for the Red Wings in 2018-19, and he'll be worth a middle-round pick in most pools for his scoring again this season.
