Coyotes' Brad Richardson: Recovering from surgeryMay 19, 2020 | 09:08 AM

Richardson underwent groin and hip surgery two days after the season was paused in mid-March, Craig Morgan of The Athletic reports. Richardson has evidently been playing through pain in his back and core throughout the season due to issues with his groin and hips, which at least can partly explain the steep drop-off in production he's experienced this season (six goals, 11 points) after racking up 19 goals and 27 points in 66 games a year ago. The 35-year-old pivot believes he'd likely be skating at this point if he had access to Arizona's training facility, and that he could be ready to play within a few weeks from a health standpoint, so if/when the NHL season resumes, he should be ready to rock.
