Hynes thinks T. Hall wants to stay with NJDJuly 11, 2019 | 02:39 AM

Devils coach John Hynes believes Taylor Hall will want to remain with the team. Hall is entering the last season of his contract and doesn't appear to be in any hurry to sign an extension. "Taylor is invested here," Hynes said. "The situation with a contract thing is a contract thing. But when you look at the player-coach relationship, he wants to play. The way I look at it as a coach is he's all in. If he's going to be on this team this year then he's all in to play. If it winds up where his contract isn't done, it's not going to affect who is and what he believes in as a person." It certainly doesn't hurt that the Devils have been busy this offseason, drafting Jack Hughes with the first overall pick, acquiring PK Subban from Nashville, and signing Wayne Simmonds. The Devils are looking like a significantly improved group and that might persuade Hall to re-sign.
