Islanders' Adam Pelech: Big day ThursdayJanuary 14, 2022 | 04:01 PM

Pelech scored his first goal of the season as the Islanders defeated the Devils 3-2 on Thursday. Not only did Pelech wrinkle the twine for the first time, but he also took two minor penalties, which was double what he had coming into the game, and was also named to the All-Star team. At this point in time, Pelech will be the lone representative for the Islanders, but Mathew Barzal is one of the candidates for the Last Man balloting. This season, Pelech has only that lone goal and five assists in 25 games for the Islanders. Hence, his selection is somewhat of a surprise, especially for a game that is generally devoid of defense and focuses on the offensive talent of those selected.
