Joel Eriksson Ek might get a more prominent role with Minnesota when NHL play resumes. Analysis: Eriksson Ek centered the top line on March 8 against Anaheim between Zach Parise and Kevin Fiala. However, he occupied that role only because Eric Staal was absent following the death of his father-in-law. Still, Erksson Ek has proven he is capable of handling more responsibilities. He can be used against the top players on the opposition and he has elevated his play offensively as well. He has posted personal bests in 2019-20 with eight goals, 21 assists and 29 points in 62 games.
