Lucas Raymond out for up to eight weeksFebruary 23, 2021 | 03:29 AM
Detroit prospect Lucas Raymond re-injured his arm/elbow and required surgery that will keep him on the shelf for up to eight weeks.
Analysis: The Red Wings first round pick and fourth overall selection in 2020, was playing in Sweden where he had six goals and 18 points in 34 games before his injury with Frolunda HC of the Swedish Hockey League. "Lucas re-injured an old injury from four years ago," GM Steve Yzerman said. "It didn't really heal properly, so I think he's going to have a procedure done, a minor procedure that will keep him out for maybe up to eight weeks. But in the long run it's not that big a deal. I expect it to heal and be fine and not be an issue." The ultra-talented Raymond may have been the best skater in the 2020 Draft and has skillful hands, as the Red Wings see him as one of their stars of the future. Source: MLive.com via Rotoworld.com
