Jacob Markstrom turned aside 37 of 39 shots during Wednesday's 8-2 win against the Los Angeles Kings. It's hard not to claim the victory when your teammates put up eight goals, but Markstrom was nevertheless busy for much of the night. The 29-year-old played well in each of Vancouver's first two games, giving up just five total goals, but he finally earned his way into the winner's circle tonight with another strong effort against the Kings. After posting a goals-against average of 2.77 to go along with a .912 save percentage in 2018-19, Markstrom will likely need to have the best season of his career if Vancouver is to make a run at a postseason appearance.
