The Calgary Flames have acquired Elias Lindholm from the Carolina Hurricanes.June 23, 2018 | 11:12 AM

Lindholm and Noah Hanifin are heading to Calgary, while Dougie Hamilton, Micheal Ferland and prospect Adam Fox are going to Carolina. Lindholm was drafted fifth overall by the Hurricanes in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, but he still hasn't arrived as a legitimate top-line forward. The 23-year-old had 16 goals and 44 points in 81 games last season. On Friday, The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun reported that contract talks between the restricted free agent and the Hurricanes didn't go well, so it's not surprising to see him heading to a new team. It'll be up to the Flames to get their new forward under contract.
